Lyndon House Arts Center has seven well-equipped studio classrooms and a children's wing for the community to engage in arts education at any level. Our classes are small to insure quality time between instructors and students. Our teachers are among the finest working artists in the community. Painting for 6-8 Year Olds - Wait List AvailableStudents will spend time in each class learning about line, shape, color, and best of all, painting! We will explore Van Gogh’s colorful work and students will develop their own Van Gogh. Through this painting process, we will combine imagination, the basics of art and a little art history to have a fantastic Masterpiece to hang on your wall! Introduction to PotteryReally have fun with clay! This introduction will give students the basics of clay building, wheelthrowing, glazing, trimming, and decoration. Lab fee includes 50 pounds of clay, firing and glazes. Young ArtistDraw, paint, and create sculptures and prints with a variety of art materials. You will create something wonderful and new as you use your imagination and build new skills. This weekly class is just right for young budding artists who want to explore all kinds of ways to make art. Limit six students. Teen Painting ClassThis class will focus on painting, its materials and methods, as well as, history. Students will develop confidence in choosing materials and handling the paint, looking at Art and making some sense of it all. Students will learn the “art” of sharing their work. We provide the pencils, paper, brushes, and paint and painting surfaces. Tuesday Art ClubA special afternoon especially for our neighborhood kids to create some imaginative art. You’ll draw, paint, make sculpture, and have lots of fun as we explore art together. We’ll explore how art enhances our environment as we create a project for our community. Teen Cartoon Illustrator's ClubThis informal gathering of teens, who like to draw Anime and cartoons of all kinds, meets twice each month. The meetings usually are a discussion of recent drawings and characters led by cartoonist artist Robert Brown. Occasionally the club invites adults who have made a career or hobby with their own drawing skills. The meeting ends with pizza and fellowship. Bring $5 for pizza and soft drink.
