What type of summer jobs are available with ACC Leisure Services? Among the positions available for summer employment are camp staff including counselors, junior counselors, and directors. ACC Leisure Services operates five day camps: East Athens, Lay Park, Memorial Park, Project START, Sandy Creek, and Enrichment Camps (Broadacres, Parkview, and Rocksprings). Day camp operation hours vary from camp to camp, most begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. ACC Leisure Services operates five outdoor pools. Among the aquatics staff hired are an aquatics director, lifeguards, pool clerks, pool managers, and pool security. Additionally, ACC Leisure Services hires extra park assistants for the summer. All day camp staff are required to be First Aid and CPR certified before camp starts. TRAINING IS PROVIDED. Also, all staff are required to attend one orientation training sessions in May. Pool Managers must have current valid Water Safety Instrcutor, Basic Lifesaving, CPR and First Aid certificates. Assistant Pool Managers and lifeguards must posses current valid Basic Lifesaving, CPR, and First Aid certificates. What do summer staff typically earn per hour? The hourly pay for summer staff depends on the particular position. Pay ranges from $5.50 to $11.55 an hour. When do summer employees begin work? Most summer jobs with ACC Leisure Services begin work in late May and continue through the end of July. Park assistants typically work April through October. How do I apply for a summer job? All thoroughly completed applications must be turned into the Athens-Clarke County Human Resources Office at 375 Satula Avenue. Applications are accepted Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. To reach the ACC Human Resources Office: Travel north on Milledge Avenue until it deadends at Prince Avenue. Turn left at the traffic light onto Prince Avenue. At the fourth traffic light, turn right onto Satula Avenue.
